My child wants to play....

My child wants to play the harp. At what age can children start learning?

5 (a bit young) or 6 is fine.

Some teachers like students to play the piano first, just to learn a little about music. This is usually where the harp teachers have too many pupils to teach the basics of music as well as teaching the harp!

So, if the teacher is willing, then start them on the harp as soon as they can physically manage the instrument.

Most important is to keep it fun! There will be lots of hard work later if they are going to make it a career.
