Can I take up the harp as a mature student?

YES !

If you play another instrument, you will go as fast as your fingers will take you.

If you don't play an instrument it will take a little longer but give you an even greater sense of achievement.

As a mature student, which sort of harp should I buy?

Start by hiring. When you have played for a few months, you will have opinions of your own.

The first 3 months rental is always refundable by Pilgrim Harps when you buy a new harp from us.

After that, the music will lead you. If you want to play Classical music or Jazz music, then you will need a pedal harp eventually. If you enjoy the folk tunes and simpler melodies, or want the instrument for self accompaniment, then the Non-Pedal will probably be your choice.
