Lever options

Pilgrim Harp with Camac Levers

We are always looking to increase the options that we offer with our harps. We enjoy making harps with bespoke decorations and finishes to suit our customer's wishes but now we are going a step further. We have decided to make all our lever harps available with a different lever to our own and one that compliments what we already offer.
After much research we've identified the levers supplied by Camac as the ones that suit our harps best. Crucially, like our own levers they have a proven track record of reliability, ease of use and an excellent sound but are different enough so as to offer a real alternative.
The main differences are that
Pilgrim levers are fitted on the right-hand side of the string, Camac levers to the left. Pilgrim levers deflect the string very slightly to the left, Camac slightly inwards. Also Pilgrim levers are made of solid brass, Camac levers have a shiny silver coating.
Although we do not think that one lever is better than another there is a difference in the cost. Pilgrim levers are priced lower than the Camac levers purely because they are made by ourselves, they have a less complicated mechanism and are quicker to fit. However, if you would like one of our harps, but are already used to using levers that operate in a different way, this could be the answer.

"The finest pedal harp that has ever been made in Britain. It is much lighter than most concert harps and, this combined with an original body construction, has a range of sonority and dynamic that is quite remarkable.”
