Our Story

My name is Fran and I am the resident harpist for Pilgrim Harps. Preparing for Christmas this year I have enjoyed looking at unconventional Christmas songs! And a
fter playing mad world, which is a Christmas song of sorts, I felt compelled to donate something to a charity. I donate my £3 a month and I donate when I see a bucket shaker. But it hit me this isn't enough.

After working at Pilgrim Harps for the last year I have been lucky enough to spend a time with a fantastic bunch of friendly, loyal, generous people. I have also had the pleasure of meeting some absolutely incredible harpists! So after my mini moment, I began chatting to some of these fantastic people and we came up with an idea to bring everyone together this Christmas and to try to make a difference!

It is devastating that most people have someone in their lives right NOW sufferings from this horrible disease. It does not discriminate, it does not go easy on anyone, it destroys lives. We are proud to be supporting and fighting in memory of our friend and collegue, who was one of the most glorious human beings on this planet. Please donate today and fight for him and fight for the people suffering that you love. Let's come together this Christmas with our love for the harp and help make a difference to stop the suffering.

Have a very merry Christmas everyone,

The Pilgrim Harps team.

Our inspiration,
Peter Cunningham

PETER  IAN  CUNNINGHAM  1947 to 2016

OUR  UNSUNG  HERO

It is with great sadness we announce that our colleague Peter passed away peacefully at his home Thursday 24th November 2016. Husband of Wendy and Father to Penny and Brett, he was also a founder and director of Pilgrim Harps. His face may not be familiar to many in the harp world but his influence to everything we have made over the past 36 years is immense. Peter seemed to have an endless number of contacts, and expertise in countless areas. He was always self-effacing and never happier than when creating harps in the workshop. His ability to get the very best out of each piece of wood was second to none and in our workshop he was celebrated for the way he worked with enormous accuracy and dexterity. He had an incredible understanding of harps and when restoring an antique instrument could always be relied upon to find the very best solution to any problem. However, above all we will always think of him as a true friend and hugely talented craftsman.

It means the world.
Lets hope 2017 is as generous as this Pete and his Cancer Research Christmas Charity campaign.
